Creating
regional and sectoral GIS on the basis of combining earth remote
sensing data and ground survey data
Geographic information systems are modern
information instruments to analyse real objects and
events and phenomena that are taking place or being predicted.
GIS combine data accumulated in various departments of a company
or even its branches in
different regions. The shared (regulated by a client) use of accumulated
data and their integration
into a single information pool offers significant competitive advantages
and boosts the efficiency
of operating a GIS and, indirectly, the efficiency of the enterprise
itself. GIS make it possible to
carry out a combined analysis of cartographic, technological, administrative
and legal and other
data in order to make appropriate management decisions.
KAZGEOCOSMOS’s important advantage is that while developing and operating
GIS we can
quickly update databases, using space and aerial monitoring images
of those facilities that are
important to clients.
KAZGEOCOSMOS uses the ESRI company’s software (ArcGIS-9.1, ArcSDE-9.1,
ArcIMS-9.1, ArcServer-9.1)
to create electronic maps and geoinformation systems; LEICA GEOSYSTEM’s
(ERDAS-8.9, LPS) and
RAKURS’s (PHOTOMOD-3.8) to process aerospace data and create 3D models
of terrain and ORACLE-
10G to create geospatial databases. We have successfully completing
or are currently
completing projects to create a GIS to carry out the environmental
monitoring of KazMunayGaz’s
production sites, a technological GIS of KazTransOil’s main pipelines,
electronic maps of Kazakh towns for
Kazakhtelecom and many other projects.
