The methods and technology of remote sensing and modelling of territorial
processes used by our company can be applead to the oil and gas sector, agriculture,
town-building and other spheres where there are significant concerns over
environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources. In line with this,
KAZGEOCOSMOS offers the following services to its clients:
• developing and operating geoinformation systems for space environmental
monitoring;
• remote sensing and modelling of environmental state of a territory in cases of
industrial waste hitting the air or water resources;
• short-term forecasting of the pollutants spread in water or air, using of remote
sensing and geoinformation modelling methods;
• risk-mapping of air pollutions in case of oil burring up and / or evaporating during
pipelanes damages
• risk-mapping of water oil pollutions during underwater pipeline damages;
• detecting and analysing of possible consequences associated gas burring up on
the flare ;
• remote sensing of agrotechnical activities for cultivate grain grop on fields and
evaluating of their productivity ;
• the space monitoring and modelling of meteorological natural disasters –
sandstorms in Kazakhstan and floods by wind in the Caspian Sea;
• geoinformation modelling of air pollutions in towns by vehicles and industrial
facilities.
KAZGEOCOSMOS employs modern methods of remote sensing data processing and
mathematical and cartographic simulation. The company uses Definiens Professional
5.0 for images processing, MIKE 21 for simulating hydrodynamics and sea and water
pollutions, SeaDAS for monitoring of aquatic vegetation conditions, ets.
Developed technology is an effective tools for valuation of environmental risks,
find the best solutions and monitoring of environmental protection actions in
various sectors of the Kazakh economy. This technology will find a wide range of
users by including in the National Space Monitoring System and other government
information systems.
Obtained by hyperspectral scanner CASI-1500 data make it possible to solve
complex problems such as the zoning of soil chemical compositions and water
resources; mapping the soil humidity/bogginess for building engineer building ;
defining and mapping of the water vegetation composition, the plants guantity
and the biomass volume (crops and forests); defining and mapping the vegetation
healthv.
Developing of interbranch GIS for the Education and Science Ministry (in 2004-
2006) and the space monitoring of oil operations in the North Caspian project for
KazMunayGaz (in 2005-2007) are among the most successful projects carried out by
KAZGEOCOSMOS in this area.
